We are pleased to announce a solo exhibition of Tomotsugu Shimono ・, an artist living in Chiba City, Japan ( Yuji Shimono ).
Rust," which is formed by metal corrosion and is often seen as a negative thing, is something that is connected to the inefficiency of modern society, which demands speed and efficiency, as well as to human nature and the wabi-sabi spirit. He continues to explore its expression.
With the theme of "passing on to someone else," this exhibition will also feature works from a beeswax printmaking workshop for art club students from Inage Junior High School, Inage International Secondary School, and Inage Senior High School, all of which are schools near our museum. Please look forward to the process of creating new expressions through the transmission of Ms. Shimono's techniques and experiences to junior high school students.
