A victim of refund fraud was reported in Chuo-ku, Chiba City.

A person claiming to be from the Social Insurance Division called and said, "I have a refund, please go to the nearest ATM to get it." The caller will then lead you to an ATM and ask you to transfer the money.

If you receive a suspicious call, do not panic and consult your family or the police.

The words "I lost my cell phone"
"I need money for work"
"My credit card is being used fraudulently"
are fraudulent.
