Recently, there has been a nationwide scam in which people call claiming to be police officers, saying that they suspect you are involved in a scam, directing you to social networking calls or video calls, showing you a police identification card or arrest warrant, and swindling you out of cash under various names.
The police will never contact you using the social networking call feature.
Also, we will never use video calls to show police identification cards or arrest warrants.
There have been similar incidents in Chiba Prefecture using the LINE video call function, so please be very careful.
