In the jurisdiction of Chiba Nishi Police Station, there have been intermittent cases of phone deception. The following are some of the most prominent recent scams.

1 ． Oleore scam
The scammer pretends to be a son, grandson, nephew, etc. and says, "I lost my bag containing company documents ／ and my wallet," leading people to believe that they need cash immediately, and the person who comes to receive the money on behalf of the victim cheats them out of it.
This is a typical scheme, but the victim never ceases to fall victim to this scheme, as the victim is not allowed to contact his/her real son or daughter by saying that he/she has lost his/her cell phone as well.

2 ． Fraud in the name of complicity in a crime
The victim pretends to be a police officer or a telephone company and tells lies such as "your cell phone ／ account is being used for a crime" to make the victim impatient, then says "we need your money to prove your innocence" or "we need your money to investigate your account. They make you transfer money to the criminal's account.
In many cases, they claim to be the police and ask if they can come to the police station in the prefecture, and when you refuse, they say, "Then we will interrogate you via video call on LINE", etc. However, the police will not interrogate you via SNS or video call. ！

If money or credit cards are discussed over the phone, hang up and call the person's original phone number to verify the call, no matter who it is.
