There has been a sharp increase in suspicious phone calls across Japan from people claiming to be employees of the pension office, telling them to go to a nearby ATM and make a cash transfer, saying something like,
"We have a refund for overpayment of insurance premiums.

・ Callers claiming to be from "Japan Pension Service" and asking for personal information such as pension benefits and credit card numbers
・ Callers claiming to be from "Japan Pension Service's official account" and asking to register on LINE ( LINE )
*Japan Pension Service's LINE account does not exist.
If you receive a phone call or email mentioning "money" or "cash cards", it is a scam.
